Description
The defrost valve is used to switch the flow direction of the refrigerant during the defrost cycle of the ice maker, directing high-temperature, high-pressure refrigerant into the evaporator to melt accumulated frost. The defrost valve is typically a solenoid valve that opens when energized and closes when de-energized, controlling the switching of the refrigerant flow direction. In ice-making mode, the refrigerant flows to the condenser and evaporator for normal refrigeration. In defrost mode, the defrost valve opens, allowing the refrigerant to bypass the condenser and enter the evaporator directly, releasing heat to melt the frost. The high-temperature, high-pressure refrigerant releases heat in the evaporator, causing the frost on the evaporator's surface to melt. Once defrosting is complete, the defrost valve closes, and the refrigerant resumes the normal refrigeration cycle, allowing the ice maker to return to ice-making mode. The ice maker's control system automatically operates the opening and closing of the defrost valve based on preset defrost cycles or sensor signals, ensuring an efficient defrosting process. By controlling the switching of the refrigerant flow direction through the solenoid valve, the defrost valve directs high-temperature, high-pressure refrigerant into the evaporator during the defrost cycle, releasing heat to melt frost and ensuring the efficient operation of the ice maker.
